Baked Custard

6 Beaten eggs
3 Cups milk
2/3 Cup sugar
2 Teaspoons vanilla
Ground nutmeg or cinnamon (optional)
Combine eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla. Beat till well combined but not foamy. Place 6 custard cups in a baking dish. Sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon, if desired. Pour boiling water into the baking dish around custard cups or dish to a depth of 1 inch. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 30 to 45 minutes for custard cups or till a knife inserted near the center or centers comes out clean. Serve warm or chilled.
