Brussels Sprouts with Apples


4 cups Brussels Sprouts

2 apples, (cored, unpeeled, and diced)

1/2 cup Balsamic low-fat vinaigrette dressing

2 Tbsp Sliced almonds (optional)

1 tsp Thyme, finely chopped

1 teaspoon Salt 

¼ teaspoon pepper

Wash, trim and cut Brussels sprouts in half. Place Brussels sprouts in microwave dish and cover.  Add 2 Tablespoons of water.  Steam in microwave until tender. (about 7 minutes). In a medium sided bowl, combine apples, almonds, thyme and dressing. Toss to coat.  Serve warm.
