Chocolate Pudding

2 Cups sugar
1/4 Cup cornstarch
1/2 Teaspoon salt
4 Cups milk
4 Squares (2 ounces) unsweetened chocolate
4 Slightly beaten egg yolks or 2 well beaten egg
1/4 Cup margarine
2 Teaspoons vanilla
In a saucepan combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Stir into milk, mixing well; let stand 5 minutes. Stir in the milk. Chop the chocolate; sit in. Cook and stir over medium heat till mixture is thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Remove from heat. Gradually stir about 1 cup of the hot mixture into egg yolks or egg. Return to mixture in saucepan. Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Remove pan from heat; stir in the margarine and the vanilla. Cool. 8 servings.
