Pork Chop Apple Kraut

8 Pork chops, approximately 1 inch thick
1 Tablespoon margarine
1 Large can sauerkraut
1 Teaspoon caraway seed
1/3 Cup brown sugar
3 Tablespoons chopped onion
2 Green apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1/4 Teaspoon pepper
Brown pork chops in margarine. Season with pepper. Remove chops from pan and pour off the fat. Mix together sauerkraut, caraway seeds, brown sugar, onion and apples. Place pork chops on top of kraut mixture, cover, and cook on top of stove over very low heat for 1 hour or until chops are tender. Serves 8.
