Spaghetti and Meat Sauce

1/2 Pound fresh mushrooms (optional)
2 Pounds lean ground beef
1 Large chopped onion
1 Teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 Teaspoon salt
1/8 Teaspoon pepper
2 1/2 Cups tomato sauce
1 Teaspoon basil
1 Teaspoon oregano
2 Pounds spaghetti
Grated Parmesan cheese
1. Prepare spaghetti according to directions on the package.
2. Sauté ground beef , onion, and mushroom in a medium size sauce pan.
3. Drain grease.
4. Add garlic powder, salt, pepper, basil, oregano, and tomato sauce.
5. Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes until reaches internal temperature 165 degree F.
6. Serve the spaghetti on a hot platter.
7. First a layer of pasta, then a layer of sauce.
8. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.Serves 8.
