Strawberry Pie

Portion Size: 1 slice, 1/8 pie

Ingredients: Yields: 8 servings

Ingredients Notes: 
1 frozen deep dish pie crust
2 pints fresh strawberriesWash, trim and slice
1 cup sugar
1 cup hot water
3 tablespoon cornstarch
3 tablespoon packaged powder strawberry gelatin mix
1 cup light whipped topping
For gluten free (GF): Use GF pie crust.  Always check each ingredient to be sure it is gluten free.

1Prepare pie crust according to the directions on the package.  Let cool.
2Wash strawberries, remove stems and cut into bite size pieces.
3In a sauce pan combine sugar, water and cornstarch.
4Cook until thick and bubbly.  Remove from heat.
5Stir in strawberry gelatin powder. Let cool for 10- 15 minutes.
6Arrange fresh strawberries into pie crust.
7Pour strawberry gelatin mixture over strawberries.  
8Refrigerate.  Serve with whipped topping.
