Turkey Burgers on Whole Wheat Buns

2 Pounds ground raw turkey
1 large apple, peeled and finely shredded
1 c. cooked brown rice
1 small onion, minced
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons sage
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon dried thyme
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
3 Tablespoons parley flakes
8 Whole wheat hamburger buns
8 Lettuce leaves
8 Slices Tomato
In a large bowl, combine turkey, apple, rice, onion, garlic, sage, salt, pepper, thyme, pepper, and parsley. Divide into eight sections. Form each section into a patty. In a large skillet, spray pan with non stick cooking spray and heat on medium high heat. Cook until juice run clear or meat thermometer reads 165 degrees. (about 6-7 minutes on each side) Serve on Buns with lettuce and tomatoes.
