Pot Roast in Foil

Portion Size: 3 oz. 

Ingredients: Yields: 8 servings

Ingredients Notes: 
3 to 4 Pounds chuck roast or 7 bone roast Trim all visible fat
1 Package dehydrated onion soup mix Or use 4 teaspoons beef bouillon granules, 3 tablespoons dried onion flakes, 2 teaspoons onion powder, 1 teaspoon garlic powder and ½ teaspoon black pepper.
For gluten free use an alternate recipe. The onion mix contains gluten. Try pot roast.


Steps:Directions: Critical Control Point / Quality Assurance
1Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
2Place roast in large piece of foil and sprinkle with soup mix.
3Wrap the roast carefully with the foil, seaming so that no juices can escape.
4Place the package in a pan and bake 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
**This may also be cooked in a crock pot for 6 to 8 hours on high heat or 8 to 10 hours on low heat. Cook until internal temperature reaches 165 F degrees
