Spicy Apricot Lamb Chops or Spicy Apricot Pork Chops

Portion Size: 3 oz. boneless, 5 oz. with bone

8 (5 ounces each) lamb chops or 16 (2 1/2 oz) lamb chopsTrim fat (or pork)
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon all spice
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup apricot preserves

1Preheat broiler.Trim all visible fat.
2In a small bowl ,combine brown sugar, garlic, salt, chili powder, paprika, oregano, cinnamon, all spice, and pepper.
3Rub spice mixture with seasoning.
4Place chops on unheated rack of a broiler pan.
5Broil for 4 to 5 inches from the heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until done, turning meat and brushing with preserves halfway through broiling.Cook until internal temperature reaches 145° F
