Turkey Ala King or Chicken Ala King
Portion Size: 1 cup over 1 biscuit pastry

8 puff pastry or biscuits | May use toast or biscuits |
4 tablespoons olive oil (divided) | |
2 cups fresh mushrooms | Washed, trimmed and chopped |
2 cloves garlic | Washed, peeled and minced |
2 large carrots | Washed, peeled and diced |
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper | |
1 teaspoon salt | |
3 tablespoons parsley | |
2lbs. lean cooked turkey or chicken, diced | |
2 cubes chicken bouillon | |
2 cups water | |
2 cups frozen peas | Washed, peeled and diced |
¼ cup all-purpose flour | |
1 cup evaporated milk | |
¼ teaspoon black ground pepper |

1 | Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). | |
2 | Prepare biscuits according to directions on manufacturer. | |
3 | Heat 2 tablespoons oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, carrots, mushrooms, parsley, garlic, and pepper. Cook and stir until the vegetables are soft. Stir in bouillon and water. Bring to a boil. Stir in peas and cook until heated through. | |
4 | In a medium saucepan, heat oil and stir in flour. Add the evaporated milk and heat thoroughly. Stir in the turkey and flour mixture into vegetables. Cook until thickened. To serve pour over puff pastry | A thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (70 degrees C). |
