This Diet manual was developed by Jacqueline Larson M.S., R.D.N., and Associates. This new version is in full color with photos included.
The collaborative efforts of this group have resulted in a diet manual designed for use by physicians and health care professionals in providing nutrition care to individuals in Long Term Care. Ideal for Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities, Board and Care Facilities, and Group Homes.
The purpose of this diet manual is to ensure consistency of practice for physicians and other healthcare professionals when providing nutritional care to individuals in long-term care. The manual can serve as a training manual. The Diet Manual is a systematic approach to standardizing terminology and interpretation. Two options for the Texture Modified diets are provided for those who are transitioning from the previous version. Standard use of diet terminology can assist communicate and apply nutritional care in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, board, and care, or other long-term care facilities.
