Poached Pears

Portion Size: 1 pear

Ingredients: Yields: 8 servings

Ingredients Notes: 
½ cup sugar
¾ cup orange juice
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1½ teaspoon vanilla
8 medium pears Washed, peeled, halved, and cored


Steps:Directions: Critical Control Point /Quality Assurance
1In a large skillet bring sugar, orange juice, vanilla, and 1 Cup water to boiling. Add pears. Reduce heat.
2Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or till tender.Cook until internal temperature reaches 165°F for 15 seconds.
3Sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve warm or chilled.
