Waffles

Ingredients: Yields: 8 servings

Ingredients Notes: 
1 3/4 cups sifted all- purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoon double acting baking powder
3 egg yolks slightly beaten
3 egg whites, beat until stiff
3 tablespoons melted margarine
1 1/2 cups milk
For gluten free (GF): Use GF all purpose flour and GF baking powder. Check all ingredients to ensure they are gluten free.

1Sift flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder together
2Combine egg yolks, margarine, and milk
3Mix liquid ingredients and dry ingredients just until moist*
4Fold in egg whites
5Spray waffle maker with non-stick vegetable spray
6Pour batter onto hot surface
7Cook until slightly brownCook until internal  end temperature is 160 ° degrees F.
8*At this point you may want to include for variety one of the following: 1/2 cup fresh fruit or berries; 1/4 cup raisins or pureed dried fruit; 1/4 cup finely chopped nuts or coconut; 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheese; 1 cup finely diced cooked ham
