Rigatoni with Creamy Basil Tomato Sauce and Italian Sausage

Portion Size: ½ cup Meat Sauce and ½ cup Pasta Total 1 cup

Ingredients: Yields: 8 servings

Ingredients Notes: 
32 oz. Spaghetti sauce
2  lbs. Low fat Italian Style Mild Sausage Links
1 lb. rigatoni pasta
2 (8 oz.) packages light cream cheese
2 tablespoons dried basil 
½ c. Parmesan cheese


Steps:Directions: Critical Control Point /Quality Assurance
1Brown Italian sausage in large skillet. Drain.  Remove and slice into ½ inch slices.Minimum Temperature 165°F for 15 seconds
2Add spaghetti sauce to sausage in large skillet.  Cook for 10 minutes until hot.  Stir in cream cheese and basil.
3Cook pasta according to directions on package.  Drain.
4Combine pasta with meat mixture.
5Garnish with Parmesan cheese and serve hot.
