Turkey Sausage and Pasta with Alfredo Sauce

Portion Size:  1 cup

Ingredients Notes: 
1 package (16 oz.) low fat turkey sausageCut into 1/2 inch slices. Use bulk sausage without skin for texture modified diets. 
1 pound package penne pastaMay use whole grain.
1 (14 oz.) fat free evaporated milk
2 cloves garlicWashed, peeled and minced
1 cup nonfat milk
1 (8 oz.) light cream cheeseCut into small cubes
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1 cup frozen peas

1Prepare pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside. 
2Sauté sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, turning occasionally until lightly browned. Cook until internal temperature reaches 165 F. 
3Add milk, evaporated milk, garlic, cream cheese and stir.
4Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat.
5Add peas, simmer gently for 3-4 minutes or until mixture begins to thicken.
6Remove from heat, stir in Parmesan cheese.
7Add pasta to sauce and toss.
