Turkey Teriyaki Burgers with Pineapple on Whole Wheat Buns

| 1 large apple | Washed, peeled and finely shredded |
| 1 c. brown cooked rice | |
| 1 small onion | Washed, peeled and minced |

| 2 teaspoons sage | |
| 1 teaspoon salt | |
| ½ teaspoon pepper | |
| ½ teaspoon dried thyme | |
| ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper | |
| 3 Tablespoons parsley flakes | |
| 8 slices Swiss cheese | |
| 8 Whole wheat hamburger buns | |
| 8 sliced pineapple rings | Drained |
| ¼ cup thick teriyaki sauce |
