Strawberry Bars

Portion Size: 2” x 2” square

Ingredients Notes: 
1 package sugar cookie mix
1 teaspoon grated lemon
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg white
¾ cup strawberry preserves
powdered sugar for dusting
For gluten free: use alternate menu item.

1Preheat oven to 350°F.  
2Grease sides of 8-inch square pan. 
3Combine cookie mix, lemon peel and cinnamon in large bowl.
4Add contents of flavor packet from mix and egg white and stir until thoroughly blended.
5Press half the dough into bottom of pan. Spread with preserves.  
6Make ropes with remaining dough to form lattice top over preserves.
7Bake at 350°F oven for 30 to 32 minutes or until golden.  Cool completely.  Cook until internal temperature reaches 165°F for 15 seconds.
8Dust with powdered sugar.  Cut into bars.
