Brown Rice

Portion Size: ½ cup

3 cups water
2 cups brown riceUncooked

1Bring water to a boil.
2Add rice and reduce heat to simmer. 
3Place lid on the pot.
4Cook covered for about 50 minutes. 
5Test the rice. 
6If the rice is soft and the water is absorbed, the rice is done. 
7If the rice is not quite done let it sit with the lid on another 10 minutes. Internal temperature 135 F. 
8You may need to add more water.
