Green Apple with Dried Cherry Chutney

2 large granny smith apple | Washed, cored and chopped |
1 cup apple jelly | |
½ cup chopped green onion | Washed, trimmed and chopped |
½ cup lemon juice | Add the zest of 1 lemon too (optional) |
½ teaspoons ground ginger | |
1 cup dried cherries | Chopped |

1 | In a medium sauce pan simmer apples, jelly, lemon juice and ginger for 10 minutes | |
2 | Add cherries and cook for 2 minutes. | |
3 | Remove from heat and add onions and stir. | |
