Meatball Sandwich

Portion Size: 1 Sandwich

Ingredients: Yields: 8 servings

Ingredients Notes: 
8 Hoagie RollsMay use whole grain
1 pound lean ground beef
8 oz. shredded low fat Mozzarella
2 cups prepared marinara sauce  
1 egg
¼ cup onionWash, peel and diced 
1/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs
For gluten free (GF): Use GF marinara sauce, GF rolls, and GF bread crumbs. Check all ingredients to be sure they are gluten free.

1Combine ground beef, onion, egg, and bread crumbs in a bowl.  Shape into ½ inch balls. 
2Cook in pan over medium high heat.  Turning as you cook to brown. Drain excess fat from pan.  Add marinara sauce and heat.Cook until internal temperature reaches 165 F degrees for 15 seconds
3To serve: add 3 oz. meatballs with sauce to each bun.  Top with Mozzarella and serve warm. (may brown Mozzarella under broiler)
